EVS project "Busy like a bee or volunteering in youth centre "Beehive"” takes place in Sillamäe, Estonia, within 13 months. It brings to Sillamäe an EVS volunteer from Armenia, Katarine Tigranyan, to make her 11-months voluntary service in Sillamäe Youth Centre of Interest "Beehive" (Sillamäe Huvi-ja Noortekeskus Ulei) from 13.02.2018 to 21.12.2018. Katarine is the first EVS volunteer in Sillamäe.
The aim of the project is to create conditions and prerequisites for promoting intercultural dialogue and diversity amongst the community in Sillamäe through EVS volunteer involvement in Sillamäe Youth Centre "Beehive". The objectives of the project are: to provide international experience at local community to young people and youth workers & teachers in Sillamäe through cooperation with the volunteer; to support the development of intercultural capacity and key competences of young people and workers in "Ulei"; to increase the awareness of European Voluntary Service and its value as well as opportunities for other learning mobilities.
Katarine will work in open youth room, assist teachers in hobby education groups, initiate and lead her own group, provide opportunity to practice English to young people and teachers & youth workers, work on the visibility of her voluntary work and its results, implement personal mini-project based on her interests and competences.
