“Sail of Change: Learn, Lead, Protect” is a youth exchange designed to empower young people through a dynamic blend of youth work, non-formal education, and outdoor
experiential learning. Taking place on the coast, the project combines daily sailing skills with nautical-based community living, encouraging participants to learn about nature
protection, living with each other, and create youth-led actions for environmental protection, focusing on oceans and seas.
The program integrates non-formal learning methodologies such as peer learning, reflection circles, creative workshops, and group challenges — fostering personal growth, inclusion, and active participation. At the same time, participants gain technical sailing skills and are introduced to environmental topics through practical exploration and team-led discussions.
Main Objectives
LEARN: Acquire maritime, environmental, and transversal skills through non-formal education.
LEAD: Strengthen self-confidence, cooperation, and youth initiative in a supportive learning environment.
PROTECT: Foster a sense of ecological responsibility and awareness of marine conservation, through also creating concrete youth-led actions.
